Hello families! We are well into the swing of things for the month of March in Kindergarten. This month our dramatic play center was switched to a vet clinic. This has been very popular and we've had to have daily lottery to ensure everyone has a chance to play.Here's a look at what we're learning:
Literacy:
We've been listening to stories and identifying the main character, setting, and have been recalling important details.
We have also been continuing to practice the letter names and sounds we have learned so far (a, m, s, t, p, f, i, n, o, d, c, u, g, b, e, k).
Our recited poem this month is "March Comes in Like a Lion".
Math:
We've finished up working with patterns and have moved on to numeracy unit where we will be working with quantities up to ten. So far, we have indentified the names of numerals and have been counting objects up to five and recording our counts with tally marks.
Science:
We have been exploring and describing the environment around us. We know that the environment includes plants, people, animals, the land, and human-made structures.
Social Studies:
We have started to explore the concept of traditions and how we experience them.
Wellness:
We have been exploring different feelings and how we experience them in our bodies. For example, sometimes we experience anger by clenching our fists or fear by having a butterfly feeling in our tummy.
Creative Expression:
The song we've been learning this month is "I'm a Little Leprachan".
We have also created lions using paint and paper plates to go along with our poem this month.
